Call for Submission

On behalf of the MWAIS 2025 Conference Committee and the MWAIS Executive Committee, we take great pleasure in inviting you to submit a full paper, panel, or research-in-progress paper for the 2025 MWAIS annual meeting. We would urge you to encourage your students and colleagues to participate in this opportunity to showcase their work to a small, focused group of researchers while enjoying Stillwater.

Instructions

Submissions should be posted electronically as a PDF through EasyChair.org by the submission deadline. The initial blinded submission template is available here. The camera-ready submission template is available here.

Completed and research-in-progress submissions will undergo a double-blind review process by at least two reviewers. To facilitate the blind review, please do not include any author or affiliation identification on any page (except the separate cover page), in headings/footers, or in the properties of the submitted file. Previously published work or work under review elsewhere is not eligible for submission.

For accepted research, the MWAIS 2025 proceedings will be available through the Association for Information Systems Electronic Library (AISeL). At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference no later than TBD, in order for the paper to be included in the conference proceedings.

Peer Review Process

Like other high-caliber conferences, MWAIS relies on a peer review process where submissions are typically reviewed by two reviewers, as experts in the relevant field. A successful conference is highly dependent on having a quality review process. Therefore, each author submitting to MWAIS 2025 will be expected to review up to two papers.

Submitted papers can be desk-rejected by program chairs for technical reasons (e.g., failure to adhere to submission formatting guidelines). Otherwise, full research papers and RIPs will be assigned to reviewers by the track chairs.

Program Participation

Paper reviewers and session chairs are needed for the program to be a success. Authors who submit papers should expect to be asked to review at least one paper for the conference. Please contact one of the Program Chairs by TBD, if you are interested in serving as session chair or reviewer.

Please contact a Program Chair concerning proposals for workshops, panels, and symposia.

Submission Types

Full Length Submissions

You may submit a full length (not to exceed six single-spaced pages with approximately 2,500 words, including all figures, tables, appendices, and references), original, and previously unpublished manuscript. The research may be conceptual, empirical or applied. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings in their entirety. Select papers included in the MWAIS 2025 conference will be considered for an expedited review process and possible inclusion in the Journal of the Midwest Association for Information Systems (JMWAIS).

Research-in-Progress

You may submit research-in-progress proposals (abstracts) or a summary of tentative results of the study to date in a 1,500-2,000 word paper with a maximum of two figures/tables.

Panel, Workshop, and Tutorial Submissions

Individuals interested in conducting a panel, workshop, or tutorial dealing with technological, managerial, professional, teaching, societal, national or international issues of information technology management are invited to submit a 500-1,000 word proposal covering the objectives, issues to be covered, and the names/addresses of any other panel, workshop, or tutorial members. The method of presentation is at the submitter’s discretion. A computer lab will be available if needed. However, the submitter has the responsibility for providing his/her own participants (such as panel members). All accepted proposals will appear in the conference proceedings. Please note that all panel, workshop, and tutorial members must register for the conference.

Awards

Distinguished Paper Awards

Distinguished paper awards will be presented to outstanding papers including an award for the best paper. Distinguished papers will also be invited for submission to the MWAIS journal.

Student Paper Awards

Up to three cash awards for student papers will be presented. Papers submitted in the student track must be either solely authored by students or co-authored where a student is the lead author.

Submission Policy

Scholarly integrity is a core value in our discipline, and all MWAIS submissions must comply with AIS policies. The submission of a paper or abstract means the author certifies it is not copyrighted, has not been accepted for publication in a journal or proceedings, has not been presented at another professional meeting, has not been accepted for presentation at another professional meeting, and is not under review for a journal, proceedings, or presentation at another professional meeting. Concurrent submission and/or presentation of the same or similar paper at another conference is considered a breach of professional ethics.

Scholars submitting papers to this conference thereby attest that they have read the AIS Code of Research Conduct, and that the work submitted is in accordance with the Code in all appropriate respects. Editors of MWAIS conference proceedings who receive allegations of plagiarism or other scholarly misconduct may inform the AIS President, who may refer the matter, at his/her discretion, to the AIS Research Conduct Committee.
